Amanda Corrigan, IMFT
Mental Health Clinician
After receiving her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College in 2007, Amanda pursued her Independent license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) in Ohio. She has more than a decade of clinical experience working with kids, teens, adults, couples, and families treating a variety of mental health, behavioral, and relationship issues. Amanda also has additional specialized experience and extensive training in the areas of trauma treatment, transitioning, suicide intervention, and intensive home-based therapy.
One of the things that sets Amanda apart from other providers, is her use of a wide range of evidence-based interventions. From utilizing various treatment approaches such as the tried and true Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to more holistic avenues including Energy Psychology, Amanda will clearly communicate recommendations customized to best treat the issues that bring you into therapy.
Amanda's unique path began in Mandeville, Jamaica where she was born, and has since meandered through Europe and East Africa as well. Raised in Morgantown, West Virginia and having lived in Boston, Massachusetts; Madison, Wisconsin; and currently Columbus, Ohio, Amanda's value and respect for diverse cultures and experiences is the foundation of her Mindful Path private practice.
A proud parent of a 20 year old college student and a 15 year old 9th grader, Amanda is not a stranger to the demands of a busy family life or the stressors of our modern world. She and her husband of 22 years enjoy hiking, spending time with friends and family (including the 4-legged members!), and indulging in various creative endeavors.
Why Mindful Path?
Client-Centered
We each have unique needs, goals and circumstances that combine to make us the extraordinary individuals that we are.
Mindful Path Mental Health rejects a "one-size-fits-all" approach to wellness, utilizing instead a whole-person, client-centered approach to achieving individualized health and healing.
Systems-Informed
You are not alone. We are each part of a network of relationships and environments.
Mindful Path Mental Health uses a family systems lens out of respect for the context of our experiences and to leverage our strengths and supports for health and healing.
Strength-Based
We each have intrinsic strengths that allow us to be both resilient and creative.
At Mindful Path Mental Health we work
to identify, amplify and celebrate your natural strengths, seeing them as our greatest assets.
Growth & Personal Evolution
Emotional and behavioral distress surface when life throws at us more than we can handle at a given point in time.
Mindful Path Mental Health has confidence that growth and healing are natural and predictable, especially when supported by an environment of patience and compassion.
